Feeling derpy???

"O, It's the last lap. Push forward!!!". "You can do it!".

True, but why did only 118 of them got above 80 points? People, even adults, fail to understand the importance of knowing their own limits. Knowing your personal limits allows you to gauge how much to do and how long. Now, it is not the time to push yourself to the extreme and die in the examinations hall.

It is the time to lay back and do work at a moderate pace, so that hopefully, miraculously, you would be one of the 118 or 150 this year who will get 80 points and above.

In our college, we need to face reality and know that we are weaker compared to the geniuses in RJC. The essence of success lies in your planning, plan to win and don't ever fail to plan. Even with your miserable 40 points in the preliminary examinations, you can succeed like how the famous black horse Ferdinand did as long as you pace yourself

Yeah yeah, life is great

What is life? What is my life? This may sound like the questions insecure people might ask themselves, but there are people who are very firm on their beliefs going on adventures trying to find the true meaning of life. Is having a good life all about enjoying?

Life has numerous ways of being defined, but there's only one true answer. What you truly want in your life is your definition of life.

If you want fast cars, that's your life goal, a subset of your life. If you want to be famous, that is what you like your life to revolve around.

But again, is attaining materialistic satisfaction the basis of life?

I don't think so, especially after chancing upon the world's happiness rating index. Surprisingly, the people in the Philippines have one of the highest ratings despite living in conditions that are almost third world-like. On the other hand, Singaporeans who are among the richest of people in the world are not very happy according to the index.

This clearly tells us that the satisfaction of material needs would bring about consequences that sometime come in a form of depriving yourself of non material needs.

Let's say, one is forced to work for 18 hours per day for lots of money. Would one be really really happy when one has no private time and no social life? This kind of happiness would only be short term. Once he hits the age of 60, regrets would start to crush his world in waves.

Life, in my opinio, is not about attaining non material satisfaction and forsaking monetary gains. It is about striking the perfect balance, seizing every opportunity and being proactive. Like I said earlier, life is getting what you truly want.

It is vague but true, sounds easy but difficult to accomplish.

True feelings Pt. 1 (Demo)

Douse the flames

Catch a lie

Build stone walls

Guard the feeble

Wash away the sins of you and I

Forever

Lies will stay lies

Hope is brink but in existent

I seek kindness to my soul

No more hurt, only love

Friends? ha ha ha

There cannot be anything, only non

Dissipating, at a slow rate

Death is never an option

No one will catch anything for thy

Dream on

I shall let it burn

Never dousing the flames

At least not on you

Bring down the roof

As i stand there watching

Gone with the sin

Truly, Goodbye for good heaven's sake

Feelings Pt. 2 (Escape)

Length blogposts are boring blogposts so there are no more examples on the uses of feelings control. As the title says, some people resort to escape so as to run away from what they truly feel. This is done through the ancient method of self deceiving and selective complication of the mind. Why is it ancient?

Our ancestors, the humans of the Dinosaur era would have constantly tell themselves it is alright to have sex under the nose of a Tyrannosaurus Rex when it is not. The people of the medieval age told themselves that the iron chain mail can prevent any form of ranged attack because it is criss-crossed in design, but then people still get arrowheads stuck in their chest.

It is healthy to escape some of those feelings that your heart conjures on impulse because these emotions might cause you to commit the worst of mistakes. But then, one should not ignore those long-lasting feelings because they are inside us for a couple of good reasons for example, the feeling of anxiety because of the upcoming Chemistry test.

Long-lasting feelings, if managed by escape will only be aggravated by the consequences that might happen if these feelings are ignored. You are probably going to fail your Chemistry test if you ignore distress and succumb to temptations such as looking at my Facebook pictures. (Just kidding, obviously)

The point is if there is an option for escape, just do it. There is no point for anyone to keep dwindling around the same trouble, problem or obstacle. Getting over it is the most important. Troubles, problems and obstacles are what they are, they only hinder. One will only get punished if one is hindered in this fast-paced society

Feelings Pt.1 (Heartfelt)

No one can define, equate, manipulate heart- felt feeling. Throughout human existence, feelings are considered as an extract topic. William Wordsworth, a romantic poet from the 18th century described feelings as a 'powerful outburst of emotions'. Scientists described feelings as possessing great sensibility (this makes no sense in my opinion).

Feeling is something that not even studies at the extreme ends, arts and science can be used to interpret.

This is a hot topic for research because feeling is imbued in everyone, and by everyone it would also include that grumpy old man that lives next door. It got me to wonder, so what if we can master the entity that allows us to have a beat of the bass in our picturesque world? With my measly knowledge, I came up with these theories.

1. Weapon
If one can control their feelings at will, one can achieve the next level of body performance. Our body is able to produce natural adrenaline when we face danger and anxiety etc. If one wants to be angry with a snap of one's fingers, he can muster up all the anger and anxiety within him and effectively raise his body adrenaline level to the maximum capacity at which his body produces.( By the way, natural body adrenaline is known to be more effective than artificial adrenaline shots in terms of increasing the performance of the human body).

Given a scenario whereby Country A declares war on Country B, they have soldiers of the same caliber, same defense and offense technology and same experience in war etc. If Country A has soldiers who are able to control their feelings through some kind of method that is not yet discovered at my point of time, with the adrenaline boost these soldiers get, their blood is able to pump faster, their brain will work doubly fast and the methods they come up with in seconds will be able to match the methods that Country B's soldiers come up with in minutes.

To be continued in Pt 2.

Paradise.

Mind boggling subject indeed. I personally never thought of afterlife before. Because there is no point.

Not because there is no point, there is no reason to research and investigate. The problem is not is there an afterlife, the problem is that whether anyone can prove that an afterlife exists. Cold hard solid evidence that is.

The Chinese believed in the afterlife. When an emperor, the descendant of the gods dies, thousands of treasure, slaves and horses are buried along with him to ensure that his afterlife is well taken care of.

The Egyptian believed in the afterlife. When a person dies, others will mummify him because they believed that they need their body in the next life.

Well if there is an afterlife, the afterlife would be no different than our life now. That is because the Chinese and the Egyptians have different concepts of afterlife, this means that there is cultural difference in the afterlife too.

Don't understand?Oh wait, my take on the afterlife is it works based on what people define it as. For example, i imagine my afterlife as a peaceful place with lots of peace loving people and with lots of peace and peace.

So is there an afterlife?? I don't think so.. BUT if humans can truly prove that our brains stop functioning totally. My answer would be no because I believe that the afterlife is a projection like how we dream in our sleep.

Weight the outcome, move with caution and dealbreak him!

Monopoly deal is such a popular card game in my school. It got me wondering, why is it so popular among teenagers who are going through consistent unhealthy amount of stress?

1)It's easy to pick up.

2)My friends and lots of people play it so I play it.

These are the reasons that appear from my first observation. Then I'm not satisfied. I went to think about it. Here are the better reasons.

1) It tests the ability of humans of weighing the more important things and the least important things. Hand size cap at 7, people are forced to play within a boundary and with the goal to win, that means people would need to win in a boundary. Challenging huh. So people who enjoys challenge likes it a lot.

2)Plan to win is the core of the game. It interests both the strategy geeks and the people who are looking for a platform to use their common sense together with probability.

3)Heck, hopefully I might enjoy it...AH IT IS FUN!! Those who likes to take risks would also enjoy the game. Along with the people that likes to play for the sake of playing and most likely have no proper reason why it is fun.

A simple Monopoly game that is not well designed in my opinion can cost 9.90 and attract people who usually do not usually play card games or any form of social games. What is the beauty of those red coloured cards that has texture no more better than a normal piece of A3 sized paper?

It is similar to computer games, or competitive games, where you see your opponents' faces when you grab their money/property legally, with your own action cards and when you denied your opponent's DealBreaker card. Suddenly, the 4th reason appears.

4) Human nature.

Simple as that, humans have been civilised for so long, but part of our genes are made up of our violent side given by our ancestors. Caged like an animal, these genes are given a little freedom when humans play competitive sport, kill one another on a video game and Monopoly Deal, where you inflict pain on others for your own survival.

There's no right or wrong way of playing the game. The idea of conscious mind versus the unconscious mind, made popular by Sigmund Freud, tells us that subconsciously, our play style is a direct reflection of our personality. I am hot headed and a daredevil, so i play the most risky moves that are often regarded as irrelevant or stupid. I can tell my friend is a careful guy, planning every move and making the best decision at the time.

Simple children's card game, psychology at its best.
